Comments: I am the 3rd eldest daughter of Ludger and Guyualla Parent of Eagle Lake. Last time I was there was September 2006 at my brothers, Richard's, funeral.
I had alot of relatives there at one time......anyne with the name Parent is related, as well as Plourde's, Pelletier and Deschene's.
My remaining siblings are Priscilla, Patricia, Edith, Alden, Tony, Rita and Rose. I had another brother named Randall who died only a couple months old.
Raoul, Arthur, Conrad Parent are/were brothers of my father Ludger. Imelda Plourde is/was my father's sister. My uncle Leo and dad were twins.
My mother was the daughter of Willie and Esther Deschene. I never had the pleasure of knowing my mother's parents. They died when she was still a teenager.
I would love to hear from anyone who is related to us or remembers my family.

Comments: Are there still Gagnons in Eagle Lake? I am trying to find relatives of Francois Gagnon, married to Marie Guillemette. He died in Eagle Lake in 1849. Does anyone know the names of the cemeteries there and how I might go about doing some research? Should I make the trip there? Thanks! Looking for my roots...

Comments: I just finished reading the your guestbook and now I am homesick. I am Doris (Perreault) Pelletier.
I was born in 1947 at the hospital in Eagle Lake & grew up in Eagle Lake. I remember Dr. Kirk so well! I went to St. Mary's Convent & then Dirigo Grammar School. Then graduated from Fort Kent Community High in 1965. I grew up in "the Slam Ally" section of town along the lake across from Eddie Belanger's farm. What wonderful memories I have of growing up in Eagle Lake.
My parents were Joseph (Joe) & Eveline (Pelletier) Perreault. They along with my brother, Norman, are buried in the cemetery in Eagle Lake. My siblings are Jeanne Boutote (m. Bill Boutote from Fort Kent), Germaine Clark (d), Juanita Gagnon (m. married Clifford Gagnon from Frenchville), Leo (d) (married Edwina LaBonte from Soldier Pond & later m. Joanne from CT), Juliette LaChance (m. Renaud LaChance from Madawaska), Norman (d), Edmund (d) (m. Mildred Longo from Madawaska then later m. Verna Theriault from Fort Kent) & Eddie (d), Paul & Pauline LaBonte(d) (m. Paul LaBonte from Soldier Pond), Jacqueline Lange(d), Madeline Nolan, Elaine Marin (m. Lucien from Plaisted) & I of course am the youngest of the bunch (m. Delmer Pelletier from Soldier Pond).
Please anyone write to me if you knew me or any of my family or if you just want to reminisce.
Pete, Babe & Roland were my first cousins. Oh my how I remember the hours we spent at Babe's & the Peter Pan chasing after boys. LOL
Oh yes, thanks for keeping such a wonderful website for all of us to enjoy!

Comments: As I have worked for the airlines for 40 years this coming Nov., I am close to retirement. Dianne and I are considering Eagle Lake for retirement. I had a close friend that built a home on Eagle Lake and then passed away, but he said the place was a wonderful place to live. His family may put the place up for sale and if the timing is right I may be living up there as soon as I retire.
Seeing I grew up in Los Angeles, this is a far cry from my growing up. But living in Southern NH for all these years I have learned to enjoy the winters with skiing and snowmobiling. My family still doesn't understand why I like the cold, but they probably never will. My parents grew up in Minnesota and they have been to NH and they understand why I like the 4 seasons. I still think they are wondering if they make the right decision to move to LA when my dad got transferred there in the early '60's rather than staying in MN and raising us kids there.
Looking forward to seeing Eagle Lake, Rudy

Comments: Have been reading daily about flooding; can't beleave what I am seeing. Glad water is receeding. I too have to contend with water in the spring. Only a little this year. Only 2 more months till we go to Eagle Lake for vacation, I can't wait. Hope to have a large group this year. Don't know for sure as it is hard to get a commitment. 11 from my side of family are going; I wish we were going tomarrow. Not to many posts here so I thought I would get people started. Best wishes Les

Comments: My family is from Eagle Lake, and I've been here three times in the last 7 or 8 years, and it is beautiful. I stay with my grandparents on the street on the lake shore that is named after us, Dubois Lane and love fishing and boating when im there. Eagle Lake is a beautiful town, and it is the ideal spot for a summer home for me and i love it!

Comments: I'm writing this in regards to Sherline Saucier who was born in Eagle Lake ; You talk about dancing at the silver slipper, and I just wanted you to know that my father ( Arthur Parent ) owned the silver slipper. I live in Eagle Lake and know alot of people that lived in Eagle Lake ; that have moved out, back in the 50's and 60's and 70's. I'm 59 years old,and I own a bottle redemption center, and I also work as a Cementry Keeper for St Mary's Parish in E.L. You new Rella Founier, and maybe you new my sister Lucienne Parent; they called her( Tei Saua) she use to chum around with Rella, anyway I hope you remember,as I'm sure you will. Bye
