Comments: This is in reply to Carol Parent-Surzinski's post from back in July.
I am married to James Parent, Conrad's youngest son. I found it interesting when I saw that you live in Hinesville, GA.
I lived in that area for almost three years, back in the late 80's, during a previous marriage. I lived in Ludowici, GA. I had also lived for just a few months in Allenhurst. My firstborn was born at the hospital at Fort Stewart.

Comments: Hello Eagle Lake. My Father John Soucy, (everyone called him Jack)grew up in Eagle Lake. He was born in 1940. I have heard many stories about the past and what life was like back then in Eagle lake from my Dad. He had an older Brother Phil and 4 Sisters, Carol, Pat, Nancy and Peggy. Just wondering if anyone remembers him and has any good stories to share with me about him or the family. I am planning a trip to Eagle Lake in the near future so I can see where my Dad came from and I want to show my 2 children where Grandpa used to live. Would appreciate any info anyone wants to share. Thanks, Kevin John Soucy Northfield, CT

Comments: Hi All,
I own the proerty on the Winterville Eaglelake line the big old blue house. We are in the process of trying to sell it and now we find out that we only own 10.6 acres and our Warrenty Deed states we own 18.5. Somewhere down the line a piece of the property was deeded to a family with the last name of Fossett can anyone steer me in the right direction to contact these people. I beleive they still live in the area. We have an interested party but until we clear up the land issue we can't proceed. Any information would be greatly appricated. Anything at all will be helpful. If you need more information just email me there is alot more that went on between the 1911 survey by John Brown and up until we purchased the property from Bob Martin.

Comments: For those of you that remember the " Silver Slipper " that was on the corner of Route 11 and 2nd street, now known as Aroostook Road and Dennis Street, and that Place was own by Arthur Parent, and that would be my father,I grew up around the Silver Slipper, and,no I didn't drink, but it was a fun place to grow up,and I saw alot of things that went on around the place, good things and bad things, but mostly good things. My father also owned the "Army and Navy" Store in the same building,The place was divided in two,and still today;you walk inside the Bald Eagle, and you can still see where the two stores were seperated up at the celling, there's a line that goes right across the celling. See Ya !

Comments: Just want to make sure that the golden retriever on the "dump road" is safe and fed and has proper shelter. I noticed last winter that his chain was frozen to the ground and was limited to his dog house.

Comments: Looking for relatives. My grandmother was a La'bee, married a Violette and then a Beaulieu. My father was a Boulay. My great, great grandfather came directly from France with eleven brothers and all were farmers. I can't seem to find anything about them. Can anyone help me please?

Comments: Hi Everyone,
This is certainly a great site so we can all take a stroll down memory lane. However, I must say, there are alot of names I didn't recognize. I was born and raised in Eagle Lake. Lived there for 48 years and then moved down to the Bangor area in 1999. I am the daughter of Aurel & Hattie Thibodeau. Married to Marc Plourde, son of Benoit & Imelda Plourde. We kept our home in Eagle Lake and go visit as often as we can. There's no place like home!! I am too young to remember the "Silver Slipper" but heard lots about it from my sisters Frances and Maxine. They would also speak of Marnie's. My generation was 'Peter Pan' owned by (I believe then) Simone Nadeau and then, of course, Babe's Place. Ah, the good old days.
